Born and raised in Ottawa, Stephanie obtained a Bachelors Degree in Criminology from the University of Ottawa, graduating magna cum laude in 2013. She also obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2016. Stephanie’s experience leading up to being called to the bar in 2017 has been focused almost exclusively on criminal law.

During law school, Stephanie worked at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic for two years. Stephanie was a leader of the Criminal Division at the Clinic, where she represented individuals charged with criminal and provincial offences while still a student. In her last year at the Clinic, Stephanie acted as the Secretary of the Steering Committee, which makes policy decisions related to the Clinic.  Stephanie received the Clarey B. Sproule Award in recognition of her contributions to the Clinic.

Stephanie also worked as a student researcher for the Association of French Speaking Jurists of Ontario during law school. In this position, she conducted legal research exclusively in the area of criminal law to produce legal resources for French-speaking members of the legal community.

In her last year of law school, Stephanie was Co-President of the Criminal Law Students’ Association. Stephanie also completed internships with various prominent criminal defence firms in Ottawa during her law studies.

Stephanie articled with Beach & Munsterman, Associates. During this time, she regularly assisted Peter Beach with lengthy and complex bail proceedings, sentencing hearings and trials before the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice. She continues to assist Mr. Beach with such matters as an associate.

Stephanie is fluently bilingual in French and English and can represent clients in both languages.
